Split peas

Split peas are a type of legume obtained by drying and splitting green peas. Creamy when cooked, they are commonly used in dishes like split pea soup, and are a staple ingredient in cuisines around the world, including Indian dals, Middle Eastern stews, and British pease pudding.

Usage

Use 100g per portion, and three times the water. Rinse the split peas under cold water. You can let them soak them for 2-4 hours to aid digestibility. In a pot, cover the split peas with water or broth. Bring to a boil, and let it simmer for 30-45 minutes until tender.
