Sultanas are sometimes called ‘golden raisins’ from the white grapes seedless varieties they come from. They tend to easily absorb liquid, are smaller than raisins (such as blue thompsons), and are usually slightly sweeter.
Use them in either sweet or savory recipes such as home-made cookies, muesli, couscous or rice pilafs.
